Thanks to ALL our Marshals
An event like Tough Guy cannot take place without a team of dedicated marshals to ensure the smooth running of the whole thing. Ensuring the whole thing went to plan we had groups for the following organisation getting y' round the course:
Also a big thank you to all the individuals who volunteered and lent a hand especially the 'Tough Guy Special Forces Tiger Squad' who turn up first and seem to leave last (mainly because they have to wait until the alcohol level in their blood drops low enough to allow them to drive!) How much you help and assistance is appreciated is best summed up by 'Sooz', a competitor who posted this to the message board: Hi there, My third TG didn't exactly go according to plan in 2006. Got the training in, including cold water submersions on 4 separate occasions. However, 2006 was not to be my year. I got as far as the artic plunge, managed to eventually haul myself out of the water with the help of a diver. Was planning on proceeding over the Bailey bridges whilst all the time the diver was telling my I needed first aid. I said I was fine then the next thing I know I am huddled up with a diver trying to keep me warm and all the time yelling for first aid!!!!!!!! I was in and out of consciousness for a while and was aware that there were a lot of people out on the field trying to help me so I just wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the divers, St John's Ambulance people and the paramedics who helped me and got me back to the field hospital. As an exercise physiologist I was sort of aware of what was happening to me and was really getting quite scared but all the guys on the field were brilliant in reassuring me and trying to keep me calm. once again THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - never feel that you are not appreciated as, I for one, would have been in a worse state if you had not all been there for me Susan Gray 1019 Thanks Guys! |
